Our track meet this year was a roaring success. The weather was perfect and we had a very large turnout to support the athletes.
We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to the elementary schools that attended this year. Cochise, Elfrida, Joanne Todd Christian School, McNeal, Pomerene, San Simone, and the Home Schoolers made this one of our most successful and enjoyable track meets in years.
The track meet would not be possible without the help of our many volunteers. Thank you to the Pearce/Sunsites Fire department for attending with an ambulance “just in case.” We also appreciate the Cochise County Sheriffs Department attending year after year. The good folks at Mustang Mall donated ice for our never ending snow cone line after we ran short. It was very much appreciated by all. Thank you to the Coronado Dairy and Valley Union High School students who sent volunteers to help make the day a success. And a big thank you to the many unnamed volunteers who showed up and just pitched right in with anything and everything asked of them.
A very special thank you to Heather Vaughn from the U of A for donating all of the “put a little play inn your day” water bottles that were given to each and every athlete.
Hope to see y’all at next year’s track meet.
