Hi, I am Mrs. Sue Shepard. I have been teaching at Ash Creek since 2004. During that time, I have taught preschool, kindergarten and first grade. Since 2010/2011, I have been Principal of Ash Creek Elementary School.
My husband and I moved to this area from Desert Hills in 2004, where I taught preschool and extended kindergarten. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, horseback riding, my dogs, cats, and the outdoors.
I have a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and a Masters of Science Degree in Education with a specialization in Educational Administration. I hold certificates from Arizona Department of Education for Principal, Elementary Education K-8, Structured English Immersion K-12, Reading Specialist K-12, and an Early Childhood Endorsement Birth-Age 8. I am also a qualified Director of the Shepard’s Cottage Preschool Program at Ash Creek School.
I feel quality instruction is the most important factor in student achievement. It needs to be responsive to student needs and grounded in the school’s core values, beliefs and learning expectations. As an educational leader I will promote the success of every student and promote the use of the most effective and appropriate technologies to support teaching and learning. Ash Creek School offers not only quality instruction, but a personalized learning environment in which all students are known by the staff and are valued members of the school community.
